2022 Jeep Cherokee - the Most Rugged and Comfortable Crossover

The Jeep Cherokee, off-roaders favorite crossover. Jeep is well known across the automobile industry for its long family tree of impressive off-roading machines. Eventually, Jeep branched out and started to make more family friendly vehicles such as the Jeep Cherokee. Over the years Jeep’s focus has switched the Cherokee from a purely off-roading capable vehicle to a more mainstream crossover that can also be taken onto paths that normal cars simply cannot take. Either way, the Cherokee has been a fan favorite for quite some time, for those who do not want the ruggedness of the Wrangler. The Cherokee makes the perfect crossover for numerous reasons, and regardless of becoming more mainstream, it is the most rugged yet comfortable crossover you can get; the Cherokee is here to stay.

Well back in 2021 the Cherokee had a huge assortment of trims and packages that added up to about 8 different trim levels and packages, now the Cherokee has gone back to its roots and focused more on delivering exactly what consumers want. In 2022 the lineup has taken some cuts and there are now four trim levels to choose from, the X, Latitude Lux, Trailhawk, and the Limited trim. A few of you Cherokee fans will notice the addition of the X trim level. This new trim is the answer to adventure seekers with an emphasis on off-roading. Jeep has done away with the lower engine and started off with the more solid 3.2-liter engine. The Jeep Cherokee has also been refined to have every model come standard with an 8.4-inch infotainment screen as opposed to the previous smaller 7-inch screen. The Latitude lux trim has also seen some infotainment area upgrades, with more modern power outlets, and dual zone air control. With all these upgrades to the Cherokee, we can see why it remains an extremely popular crossover. Not only that, but as we go through the trim levels you’ll start to be a Cherokee super fan, if you are not already one.

Starting off with the extremely capable X trim level, if you want a sporty, rugged looking crossover go no further. Starting at $34,895 the X has special logos and graphics to show off the sportier trim, while also having more distinct accents to give it a rugged look. The X also has a higher ground clearance with a total ground clearance of 8.7-inches, plus 17-inch all terrain gloss black tires. The Latitude Lux is the next trim level, starting at the same price as the X trim. It is the only trim level that features FWD as standard, with the option for an I4 turbo engine. It also gives the rider upgraded seating with premium leather, and front row seats with lumbar support. Next in the lineup is the Trailhawk, beginning at $37,545, another off-road focused trim level. It has Jeep’s trail-rated capability, and a rear locker. It also features an active drive lock 4x4 system, with skid plates. It adds the rugged and signature red tow hooks, and a Trailhawk hood decal. You also get some infotainment area upgrades plus better rims. Finally, that takes us to the top tier trim, Limited. The Cherokee Limited will start at $39,345, and features many luxury upgrades. It comes standard with a dual panel sunroof, adaptive cruise control, 18-inch tires, an upgraded audio system, power tailgate, and automatic high-beams. The Limited also has impressive add-on packages that make the ride more comfortable and safer.
